Horrible Weekend

Well, Thursday night started off good had a 2 hour session during day were made 30 quid then went back at night after a night out which isn't recommended but i didnt drink much due to average night and end up making a total of 225 for the day.

Then friday sick couldn't win anything in tourney i went out after 45 mins i think played crap and then same with cash, this was however all due to fact i just didnt feel up to it, my mind wasnt working well and i was tired from previous night i expect. And was down around 145 for night.

Saturday was lets say interesting, lost first buy in off a guy who called my 9.50 reraise with 6,3 spades i had king, ace off...flop came K,10,J...two spades meaning i had outs if he hit two pair, i checked he pushed all in...i looked at him and knew right away he was drawing to something most likely flush, so i called turn was 5 am ahead but then 2 spades falls. SICK and guy was a tosser.

@nd buy in had queens versus kings, i knew guy was strong as he plays for a living and all i cud put him on was kings and i knew it, i really should of folded when he put me all in on the low board with 1 card to come but i was given a clock against me and i knew that was it i called and he did have kings at least i had outs and tbf to him he give me chance and ran it twice. next buy in i doubled quickly all in on flop i had nut straight guy had set, ended up up 55 for day but i played for around 10 hours, eugh

Sunday didnt play and tonight am going to go now get food and play for 3 hours r so. hopefully will run well.

Clarifications:

- For Double or Nothing SNGs, use the HU guidelines.
- For MTTs with less than 150 players, use the 90-man guidelines.
- If your favorite game is not found on here, simply multiply the buyin by 40 for HU, 50 for FTP's Matrix SNGs, 65 for STTs, 90 for 18-20 man, 108 for 27-man, 128 for 45-man, 150 for 90-man, or 200 for 180-man or MTTs and add it to the list!
- For satellites, to determine how many buyins you need, use the formula (2000/x), where x is the % of the field that gets paid. For example, if a satellite tournament pays 20% of the field, then (2000/20) = 100, so you need 100 buyins.
- I will be crossposting this on my blog here so if you ever want to reference this, that's the easiest place to find it!
- These buyin recommendations are very conservative and are intended to ensure that you make consistant money while your risk of ruin is extremely minimal. It is made for professional players who cannot afford to replenish their bankroll. Recreational players may feel free to cut these recommendations in half.
- Satellites for must-play tournaments should only be played if you have enough in your bankroll for the target tournament, and you have an edge in that target event. There is an exception to this rule, below.
- I didn't include any game with higher than a 10% rake, because I feel that those games are ripoffs.
- If you are feeling good, don't play too far away from your highest allowable game. For instance, if your bankroll allows you to play $22 SNGs and you are playing $11 SNGs, you are not allowing yourself to make enough money.
- If things have been rough lately, or you have lost confidence, there's no need to play at your highest allowable level. Get back that winning feeling by dropping down, and scoring some wins. You'll still be working towards moving up.

Cashout strategy:

Pay yourself according to volume, not results.

Remove the following from your bankroll every time you play these games:

HU: 2% of your buyin
STTs: 3% of your buyin
18-man: 4% of your buyin
45-man: 5% of your buyin
90-man: 6% of your buyin
180-man/MTT: 8% of your buyin
Also remove all Rakeback/Bonuses earned

When your total cashouts reach the site's minimum cashout requirements, then cash out as soon as you can.

Clarifications:

- If you are a high buyin player, you may be playing a SNG where you are only expected to attain a very small ROI. In that case, divide your expected long-term ROI by 2 and cash out that much per game. For instance, if you are a $320 STT player who expects to make 2% ROI, cash out 1% ($3.30) per game played. That sounds small, but most of your income is coming from rakeback/bonuses anyway.
- For hyper/superturbo SNGs, only remove 1.5% per game.

Taking shots (optional):

Then allow yourself 1/4 of your cashout money for entertainment. Your shot can be your entertainment. For instance, if you are a $5 player who would like to take a shot at a $50 game, then save up $200 in cashouts, and then withdraw $150. use the other $50 for your game. Obviously this is not optimal, but some people will explode their bankrolls at some point if they never get a chance to chase their dreams!

Just one rule:

- If you take a shot and win, cash out at least 75% of your winnings RIGHT AWAY. Don't try to use the shot to pad your bankroll. The bankroll management plan is already designed to keep you where you are going to make the most money per hour.

When used together, over time, the Bankroll Management and Cashout Strategy will:

- Keep you playing at or near your optimal level. You won't have to decide what games to play. The system will do it for you.
- Ensure that you are beating the games at a high enough ROI to continue to play them. For instance if you maintain a 3% ROI at the $27 18-mans, although you are winning, you will be cashing out too much money (4%) to stay at that level, and the system will drop you back to the $16 level, where you will make more money per game.
- Keep you from facing high % fluctuations in your bankroll so your mindset is good.
- Have you making frequent cashouts no matter what your results are. This stops the endless cycle that some people have of moving up and moving down, but never cashing out!
- Allow you to plan. Your income will be easily predicatable. For instance, if you are going to play 100 $27 18-mans today, you know you will cash out exactly $108, no matter how you do.
- Encourage you to increase your volume.
- Give you the opportunity to take an occasional shot at a bigger event and chase your dreams.

I really hope this helps someone as it helped me

Hello

Hi and welcome to my blog, My name is re- i prefer to keep my real name private due to family and friends.

I will be posting new posts every week or so about how i played and where, hopefully this will one help me keep an account of my finances and two help me realize were i have went wrong in hands and how i should be changing my style.

I play poker regularly online and in the local casino. My tournament play is strong but i need to learn to finish better as i can always go deep ie final two tables but i struggle to make the move in chips to reach the final table. In cash i either have massive success or failure, i believe in betting all streets strong and making most cash possible but i do have the odd blow up and am not afraid to throw the three barrels which gets me in trouble at times and means i have to grind my ass off.

Anyway this year i plan to be profitable and this means not putting money into my online account as am good enough to make money, my bankroll this year started at zero due to fact i played way too high stakes for my own good, i sat down with the pro's online and my roll all went in a hand were i had AK and he had KQ, all money was in after the turn of a K and being 92% fav, he hit the Q if i won that hand my roll and profit for year would have been good and this year i could have been happy but now am grinding as i believe this will make me unsure bankroll management better and let me learn more.

In the casino i play about 3-4 times a week, the games range from 25/50p. To 1/2£ and then £5. Each table has its daily grinders with the £5 having some very good and big players which have won millions between them and some sponsored. One played who i admire alot has final tabled in a WSOP event and won around 2million playing poker but lost 3million on the horses they say but he has amazing knowledge.

My goal is by end off year to make enough money that i can join the big guys and be comfortable to play but to do this i will have to learn and realize my mistakes.

I will be starting at 25/50p in casino which has a lot of gambling so you have to grind a lot as last week r so since started i have broke even just which sucks as my aces got cracked by jacks all in pre and ace king flopping set of aces i get call by pocket 2s all in flop and he hit 2 for house sik but what can you do.

Anyway goals are make strong bank roll online, in casino which will take me a while and inbetween i have to do make time to do work. My online roll at moment stands at 6.98 dollars and am playing fixed 2c/4c which sucks but this is from nothing so i will hopefully make it. I have a set bankroll management which i will post soon so you can see.

My other goal is too appear in a big tournament and also cash more, but tbf tournaments this year i have only played about 5 in total one being just to have break from cash game. So in future i will up my game there but online i wont play for good couple months i hope by april i have enough which should mean my br is around 1k.

Well anyway this blog for myself and if you read it thanks for following today am off too art gallery and then poker tables away at 4pm for a 2hour session and then off out tonight, if weather however stays this shit i will play tournament which last time went out as my bluff got called by bottom pair just because guy likes me and was like am going out so just take rest my chips and after he said if i wasn't going out he would have folded, i wish he wasn't going out lol
